Technical Skills courses

Because access to good solid training of technical skills is limited in our country, Dressage South Africa together with its FEI trained group of coach developers has developed an exciting series of webinars for coaches and riders, focussing on technical skills training. Thanks to its online nature, we can accommodate coaches and riders from anywhere in the world.

The webinars strictly follow the training methods outlined in the book “The Principles of Riding” which also forms the basis of the FEI rules. By doing so, we are aligning South African equestrian skills coaching to FEI standards, thus uplifting the skills in the country.

Each chapter has been taken and brought alive in a webinar. All aspects of technical skills training are covered, starting with training basic riding skills for horse riders, independent of discipline, then moving into the training of movements right up to Grand Prix.

The development of the individual sessions was carefully supervised by our technical advisor Niall Quirk, a world-leading dressage coach. He says, “I am so excited about the innovative series of webinars from Dressage South Africa, using their top coaches as presenters. The webinars are progressive and will come together with an online library to give the South African Coaches a wonderful repository of learning and reference to build their knowledge and skills.”
