Katrine Puttick

  • Began her equestrian teaching career at 18, completing the Bill Johnson Teachers’ Training Course in South Africa, and then the British BA in Kent, England.
  • Competed extensively and successfully in Canada in your 20s
    • Invited to join the Canadian national dressage team, based in Voerde, Germany, under the tutelage of Johann Hinneman, the National Coach for Canada.
    • Also working with the Old Masters, Harry Boldt, Joseph Neckerman, Klaus Balkenhol, to name a few.
  • Returned to South Africa in 1984 after the Los Angeles Olympics, concentrating on her dressage teaching and journalism.
    • She has successfully coached from Novice to Grand Prix for many years.
    • Was the National Coach for the South African Para Olympic team in Athens and Hong Kong.
  • Lives on a small farm in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Is passionate about gardening, cooking, especially Asian cuisine, and loves to read.
  • She has two daughters. Her youngest daughter, husband and grandson live on the farm. Needless to say, she is totally besotted by her five year-old grandson, Zack, declaring him to be the best man in her life.
